Formula 3 Euro Series

The Formula 3 Euro Series is the result of the amalgamation of the German and the French Formula 3 championships. Thus, the DMSB - Deutscher Motor Sport Bund e.V. and the French governing motorsport body FFSA created an innovative joint-venture in motorsport. The Formula 3 Euro Series will have races supporting the DTM at ten events with two races each.

Each race lasts a maximum of 40 minutes and covers a maximum distance of 110 km. A one-hour practice session and a 30-minute qualifying session crucial for the grid postions for the Saturday round are held on Friday. The Sunday grid is determined by the result of the Saturday race, with the top eight drivers starting in reversed order. On Saturday, the top eight drivers score championship points according to the following system, 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1, while only the top six will be rewarded with points in the Sunday round: 6-5-4-3-2-1 points. The driver who sets the fastes lap time in the qualifying session on Saturday is rewarded with an extra point. In addition to the driver's championship, the Formula 3 Euro Series also features rankings for the rookies and the competing teams. And there is the nations ranking, offering every driver the chance of scoring points for his home country.
